Mr. Danson is an experienced trial lawyer, currently in his 30th year of practice. Mr. Danson’s litigation practice is broad based and diverse, covering many areas of law such as corporate/commercial, fidelity/fraud, administrative, personal injuries, medical malpractice, insurance, constitutional, libel, slander, construction liens, criminal, sports, environmental protection, conservation and wrongful dismissal. Expertise in these areas of law provide Mr. Danson with a very unique perspective in problem identification and resolution. Mr. Danson appears before all levels of Court and administrative tribunals, including numerous appearances before the Court of Appeal for Ontario and the Supreme Court of Canada on issues of considerable public importance.Mr. Danson is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, the International Bar Association, the Canadian and Ontario Bar Associations, The Advocates Society, The Toronto Lawyers’ Association and the Criminal Lawyer’s Association. He is also a member of the Advisory Board of the Trudeau Centre for Peace and Conflict Studies at the University of Toronto, a world leading Centre educating and training students through examining the complex relationships among conflict, peace and justice where students explore the dynamics of global, international and local conflicts and integrate analyses of peace-building and peace-making strategies in diverse social, political and economic contexts. Mr. Danson’s involvement with the Trudeau Centre adds a very valuable dimension to his perspective on problem solving. Mr. Danson is regularly invited to speak at numerous conferences and continuing education forums, including speaking at Judges’ conferences, Crown Counsel conferences, Police conferences, medical conferences, and law schools such as Osgoode Hall, Queens University, University of Calgary, University of New Brunswick and Fordham University in New York City. Mr. Danson is regularly consulted by Provincial and Federal Governments for his advice on problems facing governments and proposed legislation to address these problems. Mr. Danson has had the privilege in representing people and/or organizations such as: equestrian Olympic gold medalist and world champion Eric Lamaze, hockey superstar Bobby Hull, (the golden jet), Paralympian gold medalist and world champion Jeff Adams, former Colorado Avalanche hockey player Steve Moore, track and field superstar, Olympic gold medalist, and world champion Carl Lewis, the families and estates of Kristen French, Leslie Mahaffy, Christine Jessop, Christopher Stephenson and Holly Jones, the Toronto Police Association, the Canadian Police Association, the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters, the Canadian Chiropractic Association and the Ontario Restaurant Hotel and Motel Association and many more.
